I did (as much as you can meet a celebrity at a convention lol) at ACE Seattle 2019. First time and it was an absolutely wonderful experience, he was visibly exhausted both days I'm sure from filming Defending Jacob every day that week, but he was still incredibly sweet to me. I accidentally bought two VIPs, so I was fortunate enough to have a little bit more meet and greet time between both the Saturday and Sunday autograph signings - both of my signings were around 20-30 seconds each, the photo ops were maybe 7 seconds at most, so every moment counts! I also had a few other photo ops on top of the VIPs...I might have gone a little bit overboard because I was just so excited about finally getting the opportunity. ^_^;
I'm not sure what else to say because I don't want to come across as braggy. I guess if anyone wants to know more details, PM me?
Has anyone else had the chance to meet him? What was your experience like?

I haven't met him yet (hoping for a random cute meet one day.. ha ha), but I was at ACE in Seattle last year too! Being in the same room for the panel was enough for me that weekend, but would have loved to have met him then.

I didn't meet him, but I was 2nd row from the front when I went to see Lobby Hero - so I was quite close.
Sadly chances of meeting are slim as he's not likely to be in the UK or a while.

I stood next to him once but didn't speak to him. I felt a bit awkward. You can read about it in the TFA thread in the bit about filming in Manchester.

Were you going to ACE Boston too before it got canceled? I had bought a VIP and several other photo ops, my hotel room and airfare booked, everything ready to go...then the virus had to make life super awesome and extra fun for all of us. -_- I'm still bummed out that con didn't happen, but to be honest I started hoping it would be canceled when they announced nobody would be allowed to touch any of the guests. The entire point of a convention/meet and greet is to hug people and shake hands with your heroes, so if there's a sickness like Corona going around that makes physical contact extremely dangerous, then events like a con need to be just canceled and rescheduled asap.

I'm so jealous! I looked into taking a trip to NYC for Lobby Hero, I even had alerts turned on for when tickets went on sale, but I decided not to go...I talked myself into believing it wouldn't have been worth spending that much money. >_< One of my biggest regrets in life lol, especially since as far as I know there's never been anything more than one video clip posted that someone filmed during the show...I know, it's illegal to film Broadway shows but it still would have been nice to see a cam version of the play. ^_^;

I tried to convince my husband that we should go to Boston when it was announced, but we decided not to since it wouldn't be just a weekend trip like Seattle (we live in western Canada). I'd love to make a trip out there though if/when they reschedule it since I've never been and some of my ancestors were some of the first families to settle in that area. It'll be interesting to see what happens with cons in the future. I don't imagine one happening for a while now.

Yeah I'm trying to remain optimistic but I won't be surprised if there won't be another ACE con until next year or whenever there's a vaccine anyway. ACE seemed really confident that Chicago will still happen in October, but from what I've heard about Illinois' reopening plans, it sounds like best case scenario is if there's another con this year, it will have to be in a different state.

That 2 hours on Saturday 17th March will always be etched in my memory. He was so amazing - after the first 30 seconds or so you forgot it was Chris Evans up there, and was totally engrossed in his character.
There were some murmurings on Twitter about possibly releasing it on the internet to be viewed when Broadway first shut down, but nothing ever happened. I would have paid to have seen it again!

Considering that Broadway has been closed for months and probably months more and when it reopens capacity may be cut - selling closed or older shows for streaming or VOD has to be something producers are thinking about. There's contracts that have to be made but they (and most theater actors and crew) need the revenues. Disney bought the filmed version of Hamilton (for $70m) and the pan was to first release it in movie theaters but now it's going directly to Disney+ on the Fourth of July. Meanwhile they've decided to close Frozen on Bway since they think when theater opens there won't be as much demand of family shows so they're cutting shows down to 2 on Bway, National Touring and The West End.

Is Lobby Hero something they even filmed though? I don't really know anything about Broadway, but I know they film at least parts of the shows for the footage they use in commercials...but do they always film the entire performance? I guess it would make sense so they'd have the entire play to pick and choose any scenes for promotional stuff, but at the same time that seems a bit excessive to me. Crossing my fingers anyway that they filmed the whole play!

They usually do film alot of the plays on Broadway, etc for archival reasons
And no, haven’t met Chris, my knives out prop is as close as I’ll get 😂

Did you get one from that auction they did a few months back? Which prop? I considered bidding on the scarf and Marta's gray coat, but I decided not to...trying to be a financially responsible adult lol.
