I posted this in the Twitter thread. Whatever it is, I hope it's not too serious and all will become clear soon.

I can't believe (that's a lie I can sadly believe it) a few fans are complaining in the thread about the cancellation. They have 5 weeks to get a refund, cancel reservations etc and change plans. Life happens.

also, anger at any of the actors is very misdirected. they don't get a dime out of any of those fees. the comiccons make out like bandits. it's very exploitive, imo.

I agree. If your disappointment outweighs concern for what may be happening then you need to sit down and have a think about yourself.

Of course they get a (very large) proportion of those fees. That's why they are so high, the actors have to get paid.

Actors at cons can earn hundreds of thousands of dollars for a weekend appearance - that's why they do them!
However, with what happened to Sebby at Philly yesterday I'm not surprised Chris hates doing these things!

I don't know the whole story, and I don't know how it came about but apparently someone bit him. Someone was also calling him names too. I know someone who's there this weekend so I'm going to see if she knows what happened.

I know someone who's there this weekend so I'm going to see if she knows what happened. Oh, my God! That is terrible! I follow a couple of ladies on Twitter who were there and it looks like they had an amazing time with him. Behaviour like that will just drive them off of the circuit and it's hard enough (and expensive enough) to meet them as it is.

From what I saw, Seb was an absolute sweetheart and I've never heard anything else about Chris at cons, either. I really don't get people who act like jerks towards others, famous or not. The name calling is confirmed because there is / was a video around because those people weren't only despicable enough to do it, they also got off on filming his reaction. As for the biting thing, it remains a rumor. There's no video of it and nobody seems to know the main source who started it all. What's been confirmed by some fans was that the con staff was joking about "no poses, no props, no biting" during the photo ops, which MAY have caused some fans to believe there was an actual incident they were referring to. Others say that Seb said something about it all being okay "because she didn't bite very hard". Which I personally think may also just refer to that joke. We all know he loves to repeat a joke until it's dead sometimes (the Tom Holland thing? The lube thing?) so it may all just have been one big joke taken out of context by some overly concerned fans. But the sad part is I can totally see it happen, not just to Seb but to just about any actor at any con because people seem to fail to see the line that shouldn't be crossed by now. And to actually add something on topic now: I can't believe people are giving Chris crap for cancelling! Honestly, he wouldn't even have to give a personal explanation like that. Heck knows I wouldn't if there was some family thing going on. But he's still enough of a sweetheart to do it. So...are people really gonna say their inconvenience of having to request a refund and (maybe) canceling a trip is worse than a family emergency? They better explain that to their own families. EDIT: Oh and I just found this: bluesteelstan.tumblr.com/post/174084664829/okay-since-people-are-dumb Thank god!

Yeah I've just seen that WW confirmed that nothing happened! Still, it shouldn't get to that stage!

Yeah I've just seen that WW confirmed that nothing happened! Still, it shouldn't get to that stage! And here he is confirming it didn't happen.
I have some vague memory of a rumour going around at a Com Con in the past that Chris was all shaken up because someone tried to 'kiss' him. Turned out that wasn't true either. The people who start these rumours are just ..... well, you know what I mean. That is just how these things DO start, isn't it? Again somebody tweeted once that on film sets Chris demands that nobody looks him in the eye!! Can you imagine anything more ridiculous and less true? It all went back to an interview on Youtube in which the interviewer asks Chris and Anthony if anybody on the Marvel set has let the fame go to their heads and Chris jokes back 'don't look me in the eye'.
