So, I’m new here but I really wanted to know if anyone heard the rumor/story about Before We Go. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but the story goes that he was approached to star in it, but that didn’t pan out. He read the script again, talked to his agent about it and took the movie because of his character’s name (Nick). I guess there’s someone who means a lot to him who loves that name, and that’s why he starred in the movie besides directing it. Has anyone else heard this? Welcome . I've never heard that Nick story. I've only heard that he was looking hard for a film to direct and this one came pretty quick when another director fell out. He had three months of pre production. He was publicly attached to it Aug 2013 (right after TWS wrapped filming) and they were filming by Dec.

It's not a story I've heard TBH, but maybe someone else has?

I was told the story from Anthony, one of the former webmasters of chrisevansv.net, which is now closed but was open in the early aughts. I thought it was just because he played a character named Nick before (in Push), but Anthony said that this was the reason, as well as that some of Chris’ tweets are addressing the same person but not tagging them because of what happened with Jenny Slate.

Thank you for the warm welcome. You guys are sweet. I got the story from one of the webmasters of a Chris Evans site that was opened in the early 2000s. He said one of his friends was an extra during the party where Brooke sang My Funny Valentine, and that the friend overheard Chris telling one of his co-stars about the person. I don’t know if I believe it, but I was curious to see if anyone else heard it.
