I love that this was sent as a reply to twitter.com/ChrisEvans_USA. I think of them as a sister site in that they started their Twitter account not long after ours, I respect the way they run it they and have always been really supportive to us.

there's some controversy (which is expected, frankly), which i notice the board posted about in the twittersphere, but i would like to leave my two cents.
most of it revolves around chris taking the photo-op with dan crenshaw. left twitter does not like representative crenshaw.
i'll just say it. crenshaw is a decorated veteran. a navy seal with a purple heart. i don't like his political views. but if he asks for a photo-op, he should be accommodated. if chris had been rude or turned him down, that would have been pete davidson II, and a setback. people who disagree with crenshaw have to find another way of opposing him. AOC did this very well on twitter, so it can be done, but you have to be smart about it, and it's not easy. i understand that minorities and LGBT suffer as a result of those like crenshaw, but this is the hand we've been dealt.

Glad you said that. This is not a person who is known on this side of the pond so the controversy had me googling who he was. He obviously seems a bit of a dick. However, I do agree with you that Chris was in a tricky situation. You can't refuse to stand next to someone because you don't like their politics when you are specifically there to promote bipartisan communication. I also think Chris was no more compromised than was Crenshaw. What did his supporters think of him fanboying a well known liberal?
