No spoilers, just wanted to say I loved episode 6 just as much as I've loved all the others! This series is amazing and easily my new favorite role of his (well...it's tied with Ransom and Mace anyway lol). Chris and Michelle have been absolutely incredible, they both deserve Emmy noms in my opinion.
Chris and Michelle have been absolutely incredible, they both deserve Emmy noms in my opinion.
Completely agree. Chris is every bit as great as I expected and moreso but I've been blown away by both Michelle and Jaeden because I didn't know what to expect. Jaeden is pitch perfect as the slightly weird kid you want to believe but you're not sure. Michelle is absolutely amazing in her portrayal of the frantic mother and wife trying not to fall apart.
Here's a thing. I haven't read the book. I didn't want to spoil it for the series. Might read it later. But Michelle and Andy had Jaedan as a wee accident when they were students. They said in that interview they were thrilled and happy to give parenthood a go. They clearly love their son and Andy is totally into fatherhood. They are financially secure. So why in the past fourteen years did they never have any more children? Could be a thousand different reasons but now I've got it stuck in my head that Michelle, consciously or subconsciously, didn't want any more because of something about Jacob. 🤯

BIB. I wondered that.
Now in the book they were a lot older when they had Jacob (Andy's in his early 50's so he would have been roughly the age Chris is now when Jacob was born) so that probably explains it in the book.
But it's an interesting theory though, As for Jaeden he does have that creepy look about him and I think he's perfect for Jacob.

Michelle has been snubbed for years (she deserved at least ONE Emmy win for Downton Abbey!) so I'm hoping this series will finally get her the recognition she deserves. I expected Jaeden would play a creep extremely well just based on Knives Out, but he's blown me away too. All 3 of them are just incredible together, and their chemistry as a family is so believable.
I haven't read the book, just the Wikipedia synopsis, but the writer and director said they altered the ending so even people who read the book would still be somewhat surprised. That's a good theory re: Andy and Laurie not having more children...I have my own theory/prediction for how things will pan out but I don't want to drop any spoilers!
If you get picked for grand jury duty...it's a 3 month commitment. You are determining charges validity and if a trial is warranted. It's for criminal charges. Not sure about civil charges.

I really loved this episode. The series just keeps getting better and better

I didn't really think about it. Other than being busy building careers. I am so intrigued that the word normal is used so often. He craves a normal life. He's so happy in being a good dad. But mom fears and probably realized a long time ago that something is not quite right with her son. As a parent that is always hard to accept. He doesn't see it bc he wouldn't even admit to having a criminal for a father. Very interesting dynamic
I think that at this point Laurie knows that Jacob is guilty - she's known all along I think but wanted to believe it wasn't true until the meeting with Dr Vogel.
Andy's in complete denial. He knows, and I think he's known for a long time that Jacob isn't 'normal' (that word again!) but is so desperate to prove that he is not his father that he won't believe that Jacob could be something worse than his father is. That's why he got rid of the knife - if he was that sure it wasn't the murder weapon, why not submit it for evidence and rule it out? And that's why he's going after Patz.
As I said before, I've read the book and I still can't see how they can change the ending - everything so far is pointing to it being the same as the book - but there is still so much to happen in just 90 minutes I really can't wait for the last 2 episodes.

One thing about the grand jury scenes. I may have missed this in some discussion but as they are talking about Jacob's trial in the past tense what potential court case is this grand jury about? Who's up for being sent to trial for something?
Or can a grand jury operate in retrospect to judge that a charge should never have been brought?

I don't want to say too much because of spoilers, but remembering the grand jury scenes are the present day, and everything else is flashbacks. Also I don't know how the book has been changed.
The book was written in the same way - you weren't sure what happened until the end then it all made sense.
If anyone wants to discuss it, drop me a PM.
