First I've ever heard of this. The character looks like Bryce in Fierce People He filmed them both around the same time - late 2003 for this and early 2004 for Fierce People, so that would fit. As he said in a recent interview he got a lot of "jock" roles based on his appearance when he first went to Hollywood and this fits that too.

I have to admit (on the back on two glasses of red wine) that I love this layered aspect to Chris's personality - the amusing jock versus the serious thinker. On the one hand he's the guy's 'dude' but behind closed doors he's playing the piano, crying at films and wondering about the empty space in molecules. I know I recognise myself in that. Maybe beyond his acting at exactly my wavelength that's why I like him so much. It's hard to explain. Both sides are real in their own way. You know that people enjoy the jock and it makes them laugh but in a way the 'jock' is a protective shell that you take off when you feel safe.

I don't think that side of him is behind doors much though. He's pretty open for his love of Disney Animation and musicals and being someone who cries easily. Even in school he was a theater geek far more than a jock. No one who boasts about knowing all the words to the Little Mermaid and who tap dances on set is hiding much.
