capsbestgirl Ridiculous how much it makes you smile, isn't it? Did I tell you about my brush with Octavia Spencer? I did? Can I tell you again? We watched The Help late at night once at home on DVD a few years ago. I really loved it and my phone was just by my hand and I'd had a small glass of wine so I tweeted to Ms Spencer how much I'd loved the film and about five seconds later she 'liked' it. It was just good timing I guess that she was looking at her Twitter feed just then but it was a simple thing that made the watching of that film special. The credits were still rolling on the TV screen. Sadly, as we know, Mr Mardypants doesn't 'like' tweets or if he does he later 'unlikes' them. I totally understand his reasoning but he really should make an exception for US!! ๐

I'm not sure if the film has been released in mainland China yet. It was released in Hong Kong on the 4th of May and in Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) on 28th of April. The poster has the date 4.28 so is from Taiwan. To just put Chinese implies that it was for the whole of China and therefore misleading. I also found a poster from the Hong Kong release.

Amazing - and if I put it down the sink would it spin in the opposite direction? ๐

South Korea after all that waiting opened Gifted on an anemic 61 screens. To put that in perspective in recent weeks other indies (with lower US & WW grosses) like The Lost City of Z & The Beguiled opened to 350-400 screens. Even Brad's Status opened on 135.

Don't understand the lack of screens. Why? Do they think a story like this will not translate well. South Korea won't understand the concept? That is frustrating.
