Good for him. I think he knows that the louder and crazier they are the more they are likely to be fans of his body rather than this acting. Eh.... some of the loudest and pushiest are the professional autograph guys. If it's too out of control though it substantially increases the chance that someone, including him, will get hurt.

How long does the play run for? I'm thinking he may not be doing much press for Infinity War.

How long does the play run for? I'm thinking he may not be doing much press for Infinity War. He's not scheduled for any of the usual world spanning press tour/ fan events. He will do the L.A. Premiere since it's on a Monday. He might do some additional interviews in L.A., maybe Kimmel if they do it the same day as the premiere again. He can do NY press though and some of the shows stationed here like Fallon, Good Morning America etc. He can also do phone and magazine interviews.

Just asking.

AMAZING find Picap. I'm so glad you found that. There is something especially satisfying about getting praise from that strict teacher who doesn't gift grades. And it's not faint praise either - she was REALLY impressed. It's his original theatre foundation and bloody hard work that is showing through. And talent. This has made my day.

He could do Kimmel with some of the others I guess, it tapes around 5pm, although not sure what time the premiere is. All I ask is that if he does, PLEASE keep him away from the tequila this time! I've been tracking ticket sites that give away audience tickets for Kimmel, Fallon, Meyers, GMA etc and none of them have the guests lined up yet, but I'll keep checking and post if/when they do. I find it hard to think he won't do ANY interviews, although his priorities are with 2nd Stage and Lobby Hero, Marvel still pay him the $$$$ to promote this stuff.

The fact that he, and the rest of the cast, have been getting such good reviews really REALLY makes me proud of our boy. While I knew he could do it - he wouldn't have tried it otherwise I think - there was always this little bit of doubt in my mind that he just wouldn't cut it, that for some reason he'd fail, or that the critics would tear him apart, would see Cap and think he was trying to take the mickey. That hasn't happened. Every single person I've spoken to online who's seen it has had nothing bad to say at all - yes, they're fans whereas critics aren't - but they still know a good performance from a bad one. I'm so glad he gave this a shot, I really am. I really wouldn't mind if he decided to make Broadway his home for a while, taking on some smaller roles, finding his feet before getting something big. This role shows that he's more than a pretty face and muscles, he really CAN act and in a way it's a shame that more people will not be able to see this.

I think Lobby Hero already qualifies for that - that he's now past the getting his feet wet/ proving himself on Bway stage. Broadway even for a limited run is a big time commitment and the next time around a lead role makes sense. This limited run is already a mid January to mid May commitment - 8 shows / 6 days a week in a city away from home.

I honestly didn't doubt he could do it. His background was originally theatre. He wasn't a kid who just dreamed of making it in movies, he learned his love of acting on stage. He always says he likes film scripts that read like plays! To some extent I feel he's come home with this play.
My big fear was that professional theatre critics wouldn't give him a fair chance. I think there probably is a certain theatrical snobbery among some critics towards Hollywood and especially to people who have made their name in blockbuster superhero films. I hoped that enough of them had done their homework and knew that Chris has done some great work in independent and low budget films and that most of all they would just accept his performance for what is was without any pre-conceived baggage influencing them.
Happily my fears were not realised and they've given praise where praise is due. In my books this Broadway venture has been one of the most important things he's ever achieved.

I'd pay decent money to see him, although I know I won't ever be lucky enough to get as good seats as I got in NY!
