Greg Kinnear, Alessandro Nivola, Alex Hassell Join Mossad Spy Drama (Exclusive)
Sir Ben Kingsley is also packing for Bron Studio's 'Red Sea Diving Resort.'
Greg Kinnear, Alessandro Nivola and Alex Hassell have joined Chris Evans in Red Sea Diving Resort, a true-life Mossad spy drama written and being directed by Gideon Raff.
Sir Ben Kingsley, Michael Huisman and Mark Ivanir are also on the roll call, which already includes Haley Bennett and Michael K. Williams.
Aaron L. Gilbert of Bron Studios and Alexandra Milchan of EMJAG Productions are producing the movie along with Raff. Principal photography begins on June 22 in South Africa and Namibia.
The project tells of the Israeli spy agency’s effort to rescue and bring home Ethiopian Jews that were trapped in Sudan in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Evans is playing a man who led a team to take over a deserted resort, converting it into a destination vacation spot while using it as a cover to rescue thousands of refugees.
Kinnear is an American intelligence operative while Nivola is a doctor and a key member of the crew. Hassell is playing a disaffected Mossad agent who is also a sharp shooter. Kingsley, meanwhile, is a British diplomat.
Jason Cloth and Andy Pollack are executive producing.
Kinnear played Joe Biden in HBO's Confirmation and starred in the faith-based hit Heaven Is for Real. He also stars with Renee Zellwegger and Djimon Hounsou in the drama Same Kind of Different as Me. He is repped by WME.
Nivola next appears in HBOs Wizard of Lies and received a Tony nomination for The Elephant Man in which he starred opposite Bradley Cooper. He is coming off a best actor award win at the Tribeca Film Festival for his work in One Percent More Humid. He repped by CAA and Management 360.
Hassell is appears with Matt Damon and Julianne Moore in Suburbicon, the Coen Brothers-written dark comedy that George Clooney directed and that Paramount opens Nov. 7. He is repped by Gersh and United Agents.
