If anyone finds the original source for the Hawaiian shirt photo will you let me know, please? It's been posted by lots of sites as linked to this article but I can't find it in the article itself. I'm baffled.

Nice to see him recognized and included but the photo shoots for everyone in this issue are dire. What's with the mug shot lighting?
Also the questions in this seem similar to the W interview he did a few years ago and have nothing to do with his recent work which he spotlighted for. It makes me wonder if they just re-cycled them

The pictures are kind of odd. The photographer went for a certain aesthetic, but it doesn't always work and Chris got the short end of the stick. His head looks weirdly huge in the pic with the white shirt and said shirt makes him look even paler than he already is. I honestly don't it like it much.

I've gone through photographer's stuff, couldn't find anything.
W Magazine shots always felt weird. I just detest white stuff in general.

He looks like he was at a private party and was disturbed by someone wanting a picture. It's different

A theory I've seen discussed elsewhere is that they're not going for the pretty boy/beefcake pics, setting up that he's almost 40, and going for a different direction that previous shoots.

Maybe it's a coincidence but I noticed I have mostly seen Chris just chilling and sitting in a chair during these shoots, that goes for W Magazine ones too. I'm not a photographer but still, would be nice to see some different setups rather than just a colorful background and furniture.

It's the aesthetic of the entire shoot for every actor - they're going for gritty and non glamorous. Or how bad can we make beautiful movie stars look to show they're serious actors. Scarlett and Brads are even worse.

I honestly don't it like it much. it's the angle, which i assume to be deliberate, where the lens is closer to his head, so it exaggerates it. then they decided to have the cuffs splayed wide open, so one's eyes are naturally drawn to the top of the pic and to the bottom.
i'm glad he got on the list, and i would have preferred a tidbit about why they picked him. but yeah, not the best photoshoot.

Now that you mention it, I notice the angle too. It also seems like his head is tilted slightly forward, supporting the angle.

All celebs in this shoot were styled by the same person - Sara Moonves. Who, having just Googled her, is the editor in chief at W Magazine.
