I've seen the movie, and I've decided one way to discuss spoilers is to create a playground.
So, for those who haven't seen the movie, I'll do it this way: ask a question, and I'll answer in a simple yes or no. If you find my answer inadequate, and I'll happily go into more depth.
But I really enjoyed myself, I have to say. I went in expecting it to be a hot mess. But the Russos deserve some kudos (more than they're getting from the press, IMHO) for making the movie coherent. I liked it more than Black Panther, and more than Avengers Assemble and AoU.

I saw it yesterday. I'm still processing what happened. But I enjoyed it - I equally love and hate the Russo's right now.
Chris' first appearance on screen got a cheer & a round of applause! So did the but when Thor had his new weapon, and it got applause at the end too.
AND no-one left before the end credits scene too!

I saw the movie today. Wished there was more Cap/Nomad featured. I led the cheers when he came on. It really does feel epic in nature. It didn't feel long; when the big battle scene was set up I realized with a start that we were getting to the end. Really need to see the next one - like now! It was a sobering ending. I get to see it again next weekend with family. Hoping to process things a little more then. Our Chris - all of them really - did very well. His role it seemed was limited to being stoic in the face of great odds. And a smile for Bucky. Of course he did it very well. I believe he had the least airtime of all the Chrises. Hope that changes in the next one. Hopefully I'll come out of the next one feeling good; I didn't come away from this movie with that feeling nor was I supposed to. Looking forward to reading other reviews when posted.

^^^^ it's an interesting theory, but it doesn't pan out, and it was self-evidently cooked up by a stucky shipper.
like it doesn't explain why wanda, strange, quill, drax, mantis, hill, and fury all disappear.
it's "random," but not really, the original avengers are still left.

oh, i don't mind "stucky" or "stony" or any other ship, tbh. but sometimes shippers get a bit much when their "ship" doesn't happen (that's putting it lightly).
like i get that widow and hulk didn't quite work. but i agree with james gunn that it was unexpected--everyone was wanting clintasha or romanogers. but wow the backlash against brutasha...

I saw it Saturday and like most of you, I'm still processing. I didn't leave saying "That was great." I felt a bit shell shocked. I look back and think, "yeah that was good." I like how they meshed all the characters and some of the interaction was just fun. Thor really seemed to shine in this one. Had a lot of good moments. Tony is Tony. I have never been a fan but he didn't annoy me in this one.
I think Cap had about 20 min full running time (disgruntled guess, I'm sure it was more). Got cheers in my theater when Cap showed up and like Capsbestgirl said , also when Thor comes with his weapon.
I didn't go into with high hopes so I was pleasantly surprised at most of it. Only big let down was the minimal Cap time. I kinda expected it as it seems he was barely filming.
Tony and Dr.Strange were fun to match egos. Starlord just doesn't do anything for me. His tone of sarcasm almost seemed out of place at times but I guess that is who he is.
There were no cheers at the end but most stayed for the closing credits. (Captain Marvel hint, right?) Everyone seemed in processing mode too. I think Thanos was a good villain. Dr Strange saw the end so that is why he kept Tony alive I guess.
We didn't get any Nomad explanation other than hiding out in bad hotels as Sam put it.
Interested to see where they take the next one.

i loved the movie, but there was definitely some things they could have cut down on. i love drax as much as the next, but 30 seconds of him chewing food to make a joke?
i do think this means they won't do away with cap in these movies. it would be insulting to have him barely on screen and then off'ed.

Hi everyone!
I saw this movie last week and like all you said I'm processing and thinking about the next Avengers movie, but for now I gotta say there were some very breathtaking moments for me and I'm mostly gonna mention the Cap related ones:
The first one was the moment when everyone literally screamed and cheered and that's when Cap just appeared behind that train and caught that spare with bare hands! That fight was fantastic and just seeing Steve, Nat and Sam walk beside each other, being so in sync and Cap(Nomad) coming for his team's rescue , Wanda's smile when he saw him, the way Vision thanked him(cause he did fight to stop him barely two years ago) and then Steve still calling the Avengers compound his home... so touching and awesome! And wow the way he talked to Ross and telling him to back off and the way Rhody welcomed him, the first one so badass and the other so beautiful! I was SO glad with Sam's comment though : this is awkward 😁👌
Then came the Avengers brainstorming and Vision bringing up the biggest sacrifice that was ever made between them, one man saving millions and how Steve did it. Then our amazing Captain takes everyone to Wakanda to seek help and support of some new and old friends. (I keep saying Cap because despite him being mentally and appearanlty Nomad and being "way past asking for permission" he was commanding alongside T'challa and there was a wave and vibe of respect and charisma around him, as always our strong willed cap!)
Another moment that I was genuinely surprised and kinda happy that the directors and writers remembered was the appearance of the freaking Red Skull! Wow!
I gotta say I really liked Thanos's story too, allowed me to think of the story from his perspective and he wasn't that wrong but in his way if justification , there's madness and there's no will and kindness.it truly was his movie.
Overally the story was very well balanced with some nice lines, humorous moments, badass fights, emotional scenes and an ending that would make you want more desperately!I liked that each character had their special moments, even with very little screening times(like the Bucky and Rocket scene!) It was so exciting to watch all these worlds collide!
And that ending, that picture of Steve so worn out is not gonna get away soon, he should never ever look this defeated, guess that was one of the biggest impacts on me... He's a bicon of hope, light and grace and I would never wanna see him like that but I know he will lead his team and he will bring everyone back. The fact that we know there's gonna be a lot of our original Avengers in the next movie is so exciting and I'm hopeful for an awesome ending cause Dr Strange said there's only one way to win and I believe although they're in one of the lowest points they ever have been, this is the right path to win, surely there will be sacrifices and more emotional moments to come but that's high price of freedom...
Maybe I was expecting too much, but I kinda wanted more strong and badass cap in the final fight against Thanos, although I loved it that he was the last man standing before Thanos got to Wanda and Vision and I loved all his interactions and moments. His reunion with Bucky, his friendship with T'challa and definitely the great talk between him and Thor (please correct me if I'm wrong, but the idea of talking about each other's new facial looks was from Chris and I loved it!) and the fantastic "I AM GROOT! I am Steve Rogers...".

Chris filmed only a few weeks for IW so I expected less screen time, but not like 10 minutes. He may have had less than Hawkeye in Avengers. It's a damn shame for that magnificent look to get so little screen time. They didn't even use the famous shot from the trailer they've promoting on everything. That Drax bit wasn't necessary, as were several other elongated GOTG bits. Way too much Starlord and not enough Steve or Nat. Marcus & McFeely explained that they're both hard bitten and so they get on with it. Yes, but that means they can't have a few more lines of dialogue? I think Steve references Tony's reported death saying Earth just lost it's great defender but I'm not sure - and well I should be sure. We could have had a few lines from Steve, Nat & Sam with Rhodey, Bruce, Wanda and Vision on the jet. We could find out what they've been doing without having to read the prequel comic. He filmed 4 plus months for the 4th Avengers so we'll see more - but he or Tony better not have to die to reverse things because Starlord fucked everything up.

The scene of Steve defeated and crushed was devastating because he never gives up. Strange of course saying there's only ONE way to win and then his telling Tony this is the way it had to be is a great lead in to the next Avengers film. Yes, Chris said he and Hemsworth were playing around a bit and created that dialogue.

They didn't even use the famous shot from the trailer they've promoting on everything. I completely agree with everything you said and this part is so true. The climax of almost every single trailer and teaser was with Steve and they kinda used his popularity and amazing new looks to keep up the excitement but the problem is that high expectation wasn't full filled with the movie particularly for Cap's fans. I loved every single moment of Steve's screen time and I think his very few dialogs were amongst the best ones in the movie and although I really liked IW, as a hard core Steve Rogers fan I may be a little bit disappointed. At first I thought I was expecting too much and should be happy with what we got in a very hero packed movie but yesterday I saw the exact screen times and wow, Chris had a very very limited time comparing to even the freaking Spiderman😅I mean come on he's CAPTAIN AMERICA, he deserves better than that! Well right now we can only wait for the next movie and appreciate the fact that despite his little time, he still had some very powerful and great moments and he was actually doing something and had an impact, not like some of the guardians just talking and making jokes or sometimes screwing things up a little bit🤦🏻
