I was inspired by a tweet today by Chris Evans USA to start a thread dedicated to the eyebrows of the leading actor of the civilised world.
It's actually the subject of research by a group of anthropologists and linguists based in the University of Mordovania lead by the infamous Dr Ivan Ichinoze Apparently, Chris Evans eyebrow language is a remnant of a surprisingly complex form of communication used by humans before they mastered the art of speech. Not many people still retain it to this extent.
Hi, nice to see you. Didn't know you'd be here. I believe we could be sexually compatible and produce healthy offspring together. Do you think it's time to get out of here and find a bar? That actually hurts my brain! I am greatly irked by that information. Despite feeling daunted by that prospect I am optimistic in the long term. My body is not yet synchronised to this time zone. Stick with me. I know where mom hid the cookies.

His eyebrows are very very expressive. Just wonder how he can manipulate his eyebrows to this extent, especially when he raises only one of the two eyebrows! I tried but I can't do it. Last but not least, thanks for putting up this thread! Bravo!

Last but not least, thanks for putting up this thread! Bravo! The eyebrow thing can be funny, for years my brothers both tried to do it (they wanted to look like Spock), and one day I heard a friend say something weird. When I looked up at him, he laughed cause I was raising one eyebrow, "all Spock-like" at her. Didn't even know I could do it. Most people I know who can raised one or the other eyebrow (one friend I know, can choose to raise the left or the right, at will) have said they didn't do it intentionally, they just made a natural face at someone in reaction to what was said/done, and it was pointed out to them that they had raised one eyebrow. Also, there is something about having extra muscles in your forehead when you can do certain movements with the nose-side of your eyebrows without moving the rest of your eyebrow.

I've said it before but I'll say it again. I truly believe Chris is one of those people who have more control over facial muscles than average. I heard somebody talking about it once on TV and it's a real thing. Obviously, it's extremely handy if you're an actor but he literally does have more different facial expressions than the average.

Yeah, it really does make a difference. And with his having so much of his face covered with the various CAP cowls/helmets, he needs every bit of expressiveness he can get with the pieces of his face you can see around them. Not to mention, it makes him fascinating to watch in scenes where his character isn't talking, and when his character is sort of background to the main piece going on. In like THE LOSS OF THE TEARDROP DIAMOND and PUSH, you can see/sense so much going on with him, even though he doesn't do a lot of talking in most of his scenes.
