Thank you for posting this scene. My heart was breaking during this scene. Chris did an amazing job conveying so much emotion. He really is very underrated. No words were spoken but there was so much channeled into these few short minutes.

There's a sadness to it for sure but it does seem like it's time to move on. Everything has its time. Chris did the most amazing job of creating a Cap the whole world fell in love with. As fans or enthusiasts as Bob likes to say we can all be proud of him for his achievement. But he's done seven films now as Cap plus various cameos and that's enough. You have to know when it's time to move on. I feel melancholic that it's in the past but wouldn't want him to keep going till it's gone stale.
But I'll never forget the emotion of watching Puncture for the first time and how I felt watching Snowpiercer so if we can look forward to more work like that I'm happy.

I feel sad knowing that the next avengers movie won't have Chris in it. It's not going to be the same. But I am also happy for him. He's able to do projects that are dear to him. I believe creatively the break from marvel is healthy for him. I have to admit I am secretly hoping he will direct some of the marvel tv projects.

I'm pretty sure they've all got directors lined up for them already, I know at least a couple have - looks like Marvel are going for the same director for the whole season.

Far more powerful than the wake/funeral scene.

i can see why they didn't use it. it's too self-aware, in my opinion. the gesture of kneeling is too reverential. the funeral/wake scene allowed the MCU cast to "pay their respects" to the "father" of the MCU without making it look like they "know" that's what he is. the character of starlord barely knows tony; their interactions were never friendly. why would he be kneeling? tony straight up tried to kill bucky the last time they interacted on screen, and is directly responsible for steve, nat, and sam's exile as far as he knows. carol straight up never talked to him on screen even; she technically was never present during any of his (mis)adventures, and reading about them in the third person, may even have had an unfavorable view of him. true, they would be respectful, but literally dozens or hundreds of faceless wakandans and asgardians also perished. the funeral/wake allowed everyone to appear in a more natural manner, even people whose relationship with tony was historically contentious/adversarial (ross, for example).
