It seemed to me the article portrayed a desire to be rid of Marvel so he could be free to do other things. Which we dedicated followers know contradicts other interviews. Maybe just me taking this away from this. Sensitive on that subject I am. I know the day is coming but I truly hope it isn't coming up in the new films. I truly love his portrayal of Steve Rogers.
At the same time I want to see him in a variety of projects that he chooses. Like Gifted which is a wonderful film. I'm rambling. sorry.

We do love rambling here, carry on if the feeling takes you I agree that the wording is more like "it's almost over, phew." ...rather than "it's almost over, I'm gonna miss it, but now on to more challenging and different roles and the possibilities of more responsibility, with opertunities in a wider array of projects. Thanks Marvel" We can read between those lines though

He gave this interview in late April about a couple of weeks after he gave all the US ones. He's said pretty much the same in every interview but they always highlight certain quotes or spin it the way they want. It seems to be the spin of the writer that he's saying Goodbye to Captain America- it's even in the headline but that's not a quote from anywhere in the interview. Also like how it highlights "giant factories" quote and not how he loves all the Marvel films he's done. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail interviewer says he got the idea that Evans would be willing to return for a Cap 4. And then it's the spin of other web sites to take the quote from this interview "it's going to wrap up everything" to Chris Evans says Steve Rogers is gonna die! Next there will be articles about can't Chris Evans make up his mind. Pet peeve - this article also has "facts" about salary that are picked from a previous debunked article (debunked by Marvel through Variety no less) on the internet which makes it kind of sloppy.

It was a pretty generic interview really. I don't think the author actually could have been with Chris for long. Most of what he wrote he could have written without meeting Chris at all. I have stopped reading very much into any of these interviews. It's so easy to just say a word here or there that you say without much thought or meaning and it gets focussed on and people read into it stuff that wasn't intended. Not very articulate sentence there, sorry.

ScreenRant has cherry picked some quotes also like this. Giant Factories one of them. Also "why he extended his contract to Avengers 4" headline. They quote the Telegraph as the source of their story. On one of these there were comments from idiots; excuse me - movie goers. Things like he wanted the money, he hasn't made any other movies (indicating he can't get work); and without Captain America he (Chris) is irrelevant. I know just how his mom feels about taking on strangers online. Stopped myself from doing that which wouldn't have done any good anyway. But if there is a face to face encounter like that ...... Grrrrrr.
OK I feel better now. I know my fellow Forum fellows understand.

The cherry picking really is noxious but the most ridiculous thing is that Chris said he extended his contract for Avengers 4 when he was promoting Ultron - TWO YEARS AGO. This is not news.

I didn't realise that. I knew it was at least last year as he said so in the Rolling stine interview in May last year.

The press disgusts me. They really are so appallingly manipulative and sh**ty. It's no wonder he hates interviews..
