Nobody has contacted me to say they'd been restricted/suspended or had to fill out an "I'm a real person" verification thing for ages. Neither has our site received anything like that for a long time. So fingers crossed I think the phase has passed as I presume the algorithms sorted themselves out or have been adjusted.
We're up to 2,700+ followers now, which is a long way behind some of the big guys on the block but I'm really happy with that given our stance on his private life plus my own reluctance to comment on his looks in an overly objectifying way. It's actually a bit frustrating when I see a great photo posted by someone but I just can't bring myself to retweet it because of the text that goes with it. I'm a married man ffs ! I've always posted nice pictures of Chris of the type family/friends would put in a frame but have come up with the idea of making them different by putting quotes either by or about him so they're not simply 'look how hot he is' pictures. It also gets round the irksome thing of nice pictures I edit myself suddenly being posted by other accounts, which is kind of OK really (for the greater good) but sometimes if they haven't even 'liked' my original it pisses me off. I'm really not a fan of people who put their names right across edits or pictures that they've bought but if I edit something myself I put a small 'ce4' discretely somewhere in it so at least I know. My videos are 90% or more edits I've done myself and they have a little 'ce4' that appears in the bottom left of the screen for a couple of seconds so I can keep track of them. I still believe we're the only fully career focussed site and that whilst we don't have tens of thousands of followers (yet) the followers we do have are mostly really nice people who are at least interested in his career. The career focussed tweets never get as many 'mentions' as the fun ones like the 'touching pecs' video I did yesterday but to be honest a documentary won't ever get as many viewers as a fun programme either so that's just the way it is.
I've learnt a bit about the oddness of Twitter. It's not unusual for the number of followers to suddenly jump by about four or five then when I check I can see the new followers have handles like @calista748472628 without a picture. They disappear a day or so later. There's so much automated shit going on.
The traffic on this site seems pretty healthy too. I think we have a good number of lurkers who are very welcome and appreciated too.
